Old & New

This is that obligatory post that follows after a new layout change, just thought I'd let you know. I am terrible at visiting blogs in person and not just browsing posts through the convenience of Google Reader, so I often don't see posts in their blog homes. I think it's nicer to visit blogs and read posts there.

I just wanted something a bit fresher in a layout for the new year, with lots of white space. I think content can get lost in a layout that is too cluttered. I really enjoyed my old layout and maybe one day I'll revert back to it, but a change is fun.

In case you were wondering, this is what my layout looked like before:

I can only imagine I'll be tweaking bits and pieces some more. I can never please myself!

Love it - the colourful header is gorgeous!

Did you know you can install a "Next" button in your toolbar which will take you through everything in your Google Reader? It's brilliant - I get the convenience of the Reader but still see all the pretty site designs. Go into Settings (top right) then Goodies and you'll find the instructions for installing it.

Layouts can really make or break a blog, and I love yours. I wish I was tech-savvy enough to make something more of mine, but for now this is the best I can do!

100 ideas by keri smith: 1. go for a walk. draw or list things you find on the the sidewalk.
2. write a letter to yourself in the future.
3. buy something inexpensive as a symbol for your need to create, (new pen, a tea cup, journal). use it everyday.
4. draw your dinner.
5. find a piece of poetry you respond to. rewrite it and glue it into your journal.
