Midweek 6

+ Manzanita posted a great granny square tutorial video. I am making it my mission to learn to crochet this year.
+ The Sketchbook Project 2013 just launched and sign ups are open. I had so much fun doing it last year, I highly recommend it.
+ Kaylah from the Dainty Squid posted a lovely list of her favourite simple pleasures.
+ Tabitha Emma shared a tutorial for how to make roll-over navigation bars for your blog.
+ A couple of people asked me where I got the gnome wallpaper in my last post - I found it here (via Queenie & The Dew).
+ I don't know if it's just me, but I found Kern Type really addictive and fun. Highly recommended for typography nerds.
+ I've been eyeing off these adorable vintage fabric lady ties by Flapper Girl for sometime. Too many pretties to choose from.

  1. I feel like I'm stalking you with two comments in one day.. but..

Thanks for the granny square link. I have recently started crocheting and have tried to learn how to do a granny square but all of the tutorials ive seen so far are way too complicated!

And I love Kern Type. I have no idea why and I was afraid that I was the only one that liked it, but I love trying to figure them out and I get so happy when I get it right. :)

  2. Sharing your mission to learn to crochet this year too! I can crochet a flat square so far, but not with a straight edge, it keeps getting wider and thinner!
So thanks for linking the tutorial, Id love to be able to make granny squares!

  3. Thanks for linking back to me lady! I'm glad you like the gnomes. Willem is a wonderful illustrator.

I hope I can manage that crochet tutorial. I feel like I've been trying to learn how to crochet for so long. It's really tricky!

  4. I love Flapper Girl's lady ties, too :p. I found out very recently that one of her coffee cozies was featured in Portlandia in one of their old skits; so cool! :)
