This semester I kind of lost enthusiasm for my uni subjects, but one assignment I did have a fun time with was for my Drawing: Approaches to Abstraction subject. I became a bit obsessed with patterns, especially tessellating ones. The patterns around my house and on daily travels became very interesting to me. I drew a couple of patterns in Photoshop and did a couple by hand. Below are the patterns I made in Photoshop. It was challenging to perfect seamless tiling in the tessellating patterns - I'd love to try some more. I'd like to turn the colourful patterns into tea towels.

Each pattern was printed at A3 size onto paper to resemble posters. I'm not really sure what I'll do with them now.

I love these and I agree it would be nice to make the colourful ones in to tea towels. They will look great.

ReplyDeleteYour patterns are absolutely lovely. I also really love the handmade ones from your other post. I'd love to see what you do with the patterns! So many possibilities!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! Love the color changes from top to bottom... :)
ReplyDeleteThe posters would look great framed or, as suggested above, as wrapping paper. If you're really struggling with what to do with them you could alwsys host a giveaway : ) I love the teatowel idea too.
